Her Success Story is a podcast that allows these impactful and fascinating women to share their success journey with the world. Their triumphs, along with their failures. Their lessons, along with their leadership. And their determination to follow their dreams. Listen in each week as we talk to women in fashion, coaching, corporate, legal and so much more.

Our theme song is Irresistible Me by Cindy Rainne.

This week Ivy Slater, host of Her Success Story, chats with her guest, Bekah Hawrot Weigel. The two talk about Bekah’s non-traditional journey into tech, how Virtual Coffee supports people at all levels of their personal and professional journeys, and the vision of a woman who meets and takes opportunity by storm.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • How Bekah fell in love with coding and began her journey in tech
  • How she meets and takes opportunity by storm on a daily basis
  • What she did to navigate through the pandemic, and the realization that tweeted her into an  community of opportunity
  • The who’s who of a crew who shows up, and she built an empire of communication with them
  • What Bekah does to keep her followers interested and supported
  • Where she sees the future of Virtual Coffee going, and the engaging ways that she continues to grow
  • How Virtual Coffee supports people at all levels of their professional and personal journeys

Bekah graduated from the Flatiron School Software Engineering program in May of 2019 and since then has spent time as a frontend developer, started the Virtual Coffee developer community, and has continued to mom her four kids. She currently co-hosts the Virtual Coffee Podcast, tries to work on her postpartum wellness OSS project, and lifts heavy things in her freetime. In 2022, she officially joined the DevRel world as the Technical Community Building for Deepgram.
