Debra Jean McGinness
CEO, New Hope Community, Inc.

Ms. McGinness (Debbie) is a health care and executive professional who has served both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

Debbie began her career as a pediatric RN (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia [CHOP]).

Following her pediatric clinical career, Debbie worked as the Regional Director for a NYC health care agency. During her tenure there, she created and built a specialized staffing service program for children and adults with I/DD and special needs and launched a $1M initiative with the NYC Department of Special Services for Children. Looking to expand the reach of I/DD support services, Debbie founded a DSP staffing agency (Select Temps, Inc.) which provides

DSP staff to voluntary agencies throughout the metropolitan area.

As she increasingly realized the great and diverse need for supports within this service sector she (and husband William McGinness), founded Select Human Services, Inc.([SHS] a voluntary OPWDD provider agency), in 2010.

Debbie served as the CEO of SHS until September 30th, 2018. October 1st, 2018 she became the CEO of New Hope Community Inc. with oversight of SHS as a new affiliate to New Hope Community, effective July 1st, 2018.

SHS began with the provision of three services and six staff and now offers nine different services with a staff of over 450 (in-house and field staff) serving more than 1,000 families in the Hudson Valley region.

Debbie was also the Founder and President of Select Healthcare, Inc.(a licensed home care services agency [LHCSA] serving Westchester County, NY.

Debbie completed her MSN degree in 2010 and has presented nationally on behalf of the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association (DDNA), created specialized I/DD training for physicians and nurses at Westchester County area hospitals and medical centers and developed intra-agency training programs for staff; thus, supporting their ability to holistically support individuals with I/DD within their service roles.

Debbie has also provided nursing consulting services encompassing health-related QI reviews and staff training for a wide array of peer organizations in the Hudson Valley region.

In addition, Debbie has served on multiple OPWDD and NYSACRA committees and is presently a member of several professional organizations. She has also served her community through

service in her local Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club (past president and Paul Harris Fellow), The Midnight Run (providing food and clothing to homeless individuals in NYC), the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church and the Pleasantville School district.
