Ashley Crouch is an award winning visibility strategist, the founder of Appleseed Communications, the first “one-for-one” agency to exist. For every client served, Appleseed offers a micro-loan to a woman entrepreneur in 21 resource-poor nations, such as the Philippines, Kenya, Nicaragua, Malawi, and Cambodia.

In 2011, Ashley was on the founding team for the "first no Photoshop fashion magazine," Verily, and secured 180 media features in 8 months entirely self-taught. The magazine currently sees 1 million views per month.

Ashley has written for Forbes, The New York Times, Business Insider, Fast Company, TIME.com, Huffington Post, Refinery29, Bust, and more. She has trained over 2000 people worldwide on visibility and publicity strategy in the last year.

She speaks on leadership, publicity strategy, and entrepreneurship to audiences at Princeton University, University of Texas at Austin, Altitude Summit, WeWork, DocuSign, SheWorx, United Healthcare, and Lady Project National Summit.

Ashley and her businesses have been featured in American Express OPEN, TODAY.com, Brit & Co, Huffington Post, The Sydney Telegraph, International Business Times, and Darling Magazine. She was a Forbes Under 30 Nominee for 2017 in Social Entrepreneurship.

Her new book just launched this month on Amazon, Unknown to Unforgettable: How to Stop Playing Small, Land National Media Attention and Position Yourself as a Power Player.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • 180 media features in 8 months for her fashion magazine and what happened
  • The moment she realized her dream life looked very different from what she was living
  • The major problem in the PR industry today
  • Why starting small is not the answer and what to do instead
  • Why angles matter and we’re not talking about photos
  • Why getting into national media is an important investment, especially today
  • The importance of staying to your own integrity
