Jen Miller

In this episode of Her Success Story, Ivy Slater interviews Jen Miller, a successful digital and experiential marketer who turns business challenges into solutions, and aligns corporate goals with community needs to drive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Jen's multi-faceted work experience including (brand, agency, corporate, retail, international sports events and non-profit) in corporate culture/HR, operations, digital and experiential marketing helps her to create solutions and opportunities to address community needs.

During her 20 + year-career, Miller has built relationships inside and outside organizations with a variety of stakeholders and partners, including Nike, World Cup USA’94 and Synergy Events. In April 2020, Miller joined the ranks of millions of employees furloughed during COVID. Within a month, Miller landed a role at Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the state’s largest food bank and leader in fighting food insecurity and poverty. Enlisted by senior leadership to provide strategic guidance and management on multiple projects, Miller  developed, planned and wrote the organization’s Playbook for emergency COVID response strategy that contributed to the distribution of more than 160,000 boxes of shelf-stable items, milk and produce (May - November, 2020). Using Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping to identify gap areas in food insecurity, Miller collaborated with county-level leaders, local governments and community officials to ensure distribution of more than 4MM million pounds of food to New Jersey’s neighbors in need. Miller also forged a partnership with the Hudson County (NJ) Department of Human Services to develop a long-term strategic plan to address food insecurity for more than 672,000 residents. The partnership will launch the county’s first ever Food Insecurity Task Force in December.

In 2012, Maplecrest Ford Lincoln of Union (NJ) tapped Miller to spearhead a national initiative to overhaul the consumer experience at the local level. As Chief Marketing Officer, Miller launched a digital marketing platform that increased sales 50% and service sales 30%. Miller created a CSR initiative, Maplecrest Moves Charities, to engage employees with meaningful community involvement. The award-winning program delivered transportation relief to more than 45 non-profit organizations, reaching 1MM individuals through traditional, social media and direct engagement across Metro New York City.

Prior to work in the auto industry, Miller and her business partner provided leadership development training for Fortune 500 companies, small/mid-sized businesses and nonprofits.
