Jane Tornatore
This week Ivy Slater, host of Her Success Story, chats with her guest, Jane Tornatore. The two talk about breaking rules, overcoming obstacles, reducing stress, and trusting our intuition. She gives us actionable steps we can take to raise our level of awareness and reduce our judgment of self.
In this episode, we discuss:
What transitioned her from advertising to therapy, and the single phrase that helped her to find her path
Why she tells us to question the rules, stop being kicked around them, and create our own guidelines to live by
How her desire to succeed helped her to overcome the obstacles of ADHD and dyslexia while she was getting her PhD
Where Jane got the courage to start her own business
How she practices gratitude in a way that can’t be critiqued
What words she would ban to reduce stress in the body
What actionable steps we can take to raise our level of awareness and reduce self doubt
Dr. Jane Tornatore is a brain geek and self-compassion expert based in Seattle, WA. As a coach, therapist, speaker, and author, she works with intelligent, motivated, high-achieving women who are committed to being better people, yet, they never feel better ENOUGH. Women who want to finally like themselves and stop second-guessing their decisions. What separates her from other coaches and therapists is her down to earth, humorous, practical, and SIMPLE approach. And because of this, her clients become aware of the unconscious beliefs that keep them stuck and unsatisfied, so they can choose thoughts and actions that actually work for them rather than making them feel like crap. She received a Master’s degree at the University of Illinois, and a PhD at the University of Minnesota. She has authored over 20 articles and published a book—Everything is Perfect, Just Not ME! A Roadmap for Self-Acceptance.
